Film review
Adaptation. (2002)
★★★★½
remarkable. I think I'm obsessed with Charlie Kaufman's approach to screenwriting. It seems he's obessessed with breaking any preconceived notions, boxes, genres, and rules. He wants to tip the whole thing over on its head, expose and then manipulate it. It's the type of meta narrative that makes you appreciate the real thing that much more while simultaneously having your mind blown by how not-like-that it is. Yeah the performances are ok and Spike Jonze is definitely in command of this as director but my god the screenplay. I love seeing art that feels new idk.
