Film review

Anora (2024)

★★★★½

Such electric filmmaking. My adrenaline was pumping and attention was fully captured from the beginning until at least 45 minutes in. How do you achieve that? Is is editing? Script? Directing? I'm not sure but thank gd Sean baker does.
One of the most powerful and effecting endings I've seen in a long time. In a weird way, I think its comparable to the "Perfect Days" ending; character who's withheld their emotions the entire movie crying at the end, changing your whole view of the character.
