Asteroid City (2023)

I think this was my least favorite Wes Anderson. It seems like he’s leaned into the Wes Anderson aesthetic but has lost the heart and plot. He’s overly focused on framing, intelligent sounding scripts, and a cast of kookie characters. 
He continues to “out Wes Anderson” himself on every installment but that isn’t necessarily a good thing. I’d prefer movies more In line with Rushmore and bottle rocket; yes they were intelligent and quippy but they also had more heart and felt more real. 
At the end of the day I appreciate what he’s doing with the art form and he’s definitely unique but his screenwriting talent is being overshadowed by his set design and framing. Make a down to earth movie again Wes I’m begging you
