Cyrano (2021)

I wanted to like this a lot more than I did. There were definitely great elements: the cinematography, Dinklage and Roxanne, some of the songs... but overall I was underwhelmed. I just wanted more from it; maybe its the other actors failure to deliver on their performances dragging me out of the movie, maybe its the story that I wasn't so connected to (greatest wingman of all time over here) or maybe it's because I just saw Les mis for the first time and that set my bar for musical period pieces way too high, I'm not sure.

But, that deep focus shot of Cyrano singing to Roxanne at the balcony was pretty cool. Honestly the cinematography was the main redeeming factor here (crazy the same guy shot the avengers lol)
