Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)

Wes Anderson has a perfect record in my eyes. I've loved each of his films that I've seen. Until now I thought that was because he stuck to a formula. And yes there were very distinct Wes Andersen stylistic choices in this movie. But still; a stop motion animated movie about foxes vs farmers! who else could have kept me intrigued for an hour and a half with a premise like that. There were also some beautiful shots (Im thinking specifically of the conversation in front of the waterfall and the electric fight between Mr. fox and the rat). Wes Andersen continues to be my guilty pleasure director but honestly, with his distinct style and sense for dialogue, as unnatural and apathetic as it may sound, he is becoming one of my favorites. He has a sense for where to put the camera, and where to keep it, how to edit, and he does his films his own way.
