Magnolia (1999)

Masterpiece.
The quickest 3+ hours I've ever experienced; PTA made this movie MOVE
The pacing is just absolutely brilliant. I mean everything about this is absolutely brilliant. How do you even concieve of this movie? Let alone write and direct it. It's remarkable. Everything about this is remarkable.
This was my 200th movie of the year and I wanted it to be a good one and boy did this not disappoint. It really made me rethink movies, specifically their structure. What even is a 3 act structure? What even is a storyline? What is a character arc? This movie was so much movie. PTA is a master at the craft.
Soundtrack was great but also score was so impactful here - turned what could have been ordinary moments into really fluid sequences.
Also, one of the most bizzare, "wow did he really just do that" endings of all time
