Mean Girls (2024)

★★★

You wanna know how I know this movie was made for the TikTok generation? It isn't the fact that Tiktok actually plays a role in this movie (kinda clever, I thought) or that all the side characters are Gen Z dollar store knockoffs. It's that the person sitting next to me couldn't sit still the entire time and the person in front of me held their phone up and waited for about 20 minutes just to take a picture of the words mean girls on screen to send to her friend group chat.

Honestly this wasn't so bad. All the actors seemed like downgrades of the original and I spent half of the movie, and I'm still not convinced, trying to determine whether the lesbian best friend was Vanessa Hudgens or not. There were some moments that were actually done kinda well and overall its probably a 2 1/2 but Tina Fey psyched us out by almost singing and that gets a half star on its own
