The Fantastic 4: First Steps 2025

Would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it, even if it does feel like half a movie. Like the bare bones were plotted out and they were checking the boxes of what needed to appear. And followed a very familiar template. Still really really liked the retrofuturism design of the world, cinematography, fantastic four theme, and yeah the space CGI was really great. My main gripe, and just too hard to overlook, is that the acting feels so stiff. The characters feel like aliens playing depressed people; they don't feel rounded out or human. Really strange performances from everyone except maybe Johnny and the Silver Surfer. Still, I had fun time with it.
