High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008)

★★★★★

The perfect end to a perfect trilogy.

I had so much fun watching this. It's paced so well, the musics great, the characters are captivating and the story's engaging enough that it goes by in an instant.

I miss childhood so much. I remember being a kid watching this and thinking that Troy Bolton was the coolest guy in the world, and how badly I wanted to be in East High. I miss high school, hanging out with friends, getting into trouble, and college being the only concern I had. This movie captured the feeling of growing up and not knowing where the next stage of your life will be. How badly we want to live in the moment and stay young forever; I really felt it.

Okay so maybe it isn't cut from the same cloth as other 5 star movies. But honestly, its a damn near perfect movie. So many iconic scenes and songs. The choreography is amazing. The acting is genuinely good for what it is. The songs are catchy. The lighting, cinematography, and editing are also great. I mean this is a proper movie musical.

This REALLY played on my nostalgia but honestly I think this will be a timeless movie. There are proper life lessons throughout the trilogy and it promotes a passion for the arts even in a town where the literal junkyard dude follows high school basketball. (I probably did musical theater as a kid because of this trilogy and in part, its contributed to my overall love of the arts)

I smiled throughout. I laughed. I got emotional at certain parts. The whole series is just so feel good. I'm so happy I did a trilogy rewatch and I can't wait to do it again
